# Context Loading Improvements
## Status
In progress — testing and iterating.
## What exists
- `scripts/context-load` — Walks from cwd upward, loads CLAUDE.md, CONTEXT.md, MEMORY.md, BESTPRACTICES.md files, directory trees (depth 3), cwd `*.md` files, and git-status-report output. Deduplicates via symlink resolution.
- `scripts/start-claude` — Wrapper that runs `context-load` and passes result via `--append-system-prompt` to the `claude` CLI.
- Both symlinked into `~/sbin/`.
## What to test
- Run `start-claude` from different project directories and verify context is complete and correctly ordered
- Check token budget — is the output too large for some projects?
- Verify CONTEXT.md and BESTPRACTICES.md are picked up when they exist
- Confirm git-status-report output is clean (no ANSI artefacts)
## Future direction
- CONTEXT.md will be the primary mechanism for orienting independent agents running in Docker containers
- Each agent gets the full context load, with its starting prompt pointing to the relevant CONTEXT.md entry
